CR Mission Contribution Recognition During the Kaia Permissionless Network Upgrade

With the Kaia network upgrade (transition to Permissionless), KAIA staking is changing. If you stake KAIA and participate in CR Mission, please review the details below.

Summary

Your CR Mission rewards will not decrease while you move your stake to the new contract. We will recognize the amount of KAIA you have staked at block 232,552,000 (expected around 00:00 KST on Mon, Nov 16), and keep recognizing it as-is until block 235,526,400 (expected 10:17 KST on Sun, Dec 20). Please move to the new version at your convenience before then.

※ Block numbers are the official reference. Times are estimates and may vary with block production speed.

※ You can check the actual time for each block number on Kaiascan.

1. What is changing?

• KAIA you currently have staked needs to be moved to the new staking version.
• To move it, unstake from your current staking (takes about 7 days), then stake again on the new contract.
• Unstaked KAIA can be staked on the new contract from Mon, Nov 23.

2. What happens to my CR Mission rewards?

• Normally, CR Mission calculates rewards based on the lowest amount you had staked during the period.
• So if your stake is empty even briefly while moving, your rewards would normally decrease.
• Since the upgrade is not something you chose, we will recognize your staked amount at the reference block 232,552,000 as-is until the end block 235,526,400, so you won't lose out.
• During this period, your recognized amount will not decrease even while you are unstaking or moving.

3. Recommended steps

4. Important notes

• KAIA added after the reference block will count toward rewards from the end block onward.
• USDT · JPYC are not fixed. Recognized KAIA is capped at 10x your deposited stablecoins (USDT-equivalent), so withdrawing USDT · JPYC during this period may also reduce your recognized KAIA.
• If you move to the new version after the end block, the 10-day period in which you move will not be counted, and recognition resumes from the following period.
• Only pdKAIA held in your wallet is recognized (pdKAIA is what you receive when staking on the new version). pdKAIA deposited elsewhere, such as in a DEX, is not recognized.
• On the new version, KAIA staked with Permissionless Validators is recognized as well as KAIA staked with GCs. Newly activated validators are recognized from the next Epoch after confirmation by the Foundation.

5. If you hold LST (stKAIA · gcKAIA)

• LST holdings are also recognized based on the amount held at the same reference block 232,552,000, until the end block 235,526,400.
• Please keep your LST holdings as usual until the reference block.

6. FAQ

Q. What happens if I do nothing? Until the end block 235,526,400, rewards are recognized based on your amount at the reference block. However, if you do not move to the new version, your KAIA will no longer count toward rewards after the end block.

Q. Can I move early? We don't recommend it. Unstaking before reference block 232,552,000 reduces your recognized amount accordingly. Please move after the reference block has passed.

Q. Do I need to move right after the reference block? No need to rush. You just need to move before the end block 235,526,400.

Q. Does the same apply to LST? Yes. Your holdings at the same reference block are recognized until the end block.

Q. Is the way I claim rewards changing? No. You can claim on Kaia Portal as before.
